Going Green in aviation projects is more important than ever. Transportation Consulting & Management has been involved in projects that have set new standards in promoting energy efficiency and sustainable development.
New Indianapolis Airport
Design and construction techniques used for the New Indianapolis Airport project have contributed to over 50 LEED elements that have been incorporated into the program.
Sustainable strategies include a radiant heating and cooling system in the terminal floors and use of high-quality, shaded glass to reduce thermal gain/loss throught the building, saving utility costs and energy usage. Additionally, the terminal’s location, a midfield position between two existing runways, promotes energy efficiency by reducing aircraft taxi time, which cuts the amount of aircraft fuel consumed.
